TJL Takes Over Dundonald
Friday 19th May saw the Annual TJL Golf Day come to Dundonald Links for the first time in its history. The superb links course, with 5* facilities (if we do say so ourselves) was made even better by the wonderful weather and warm welcome we received from every member of the team at Dundonald.
We were delighted to be joined by members of our project teams from 45 companies, travelling from all over Scotland to join us on Friday. Split into their 4 balls, the teams set off towards the greens to take on the par 72 course.
As is traditional, light refreshments were served in the halfway house, which, thanks to its proximity to not only the 10th but the 18th hole, was never short of visitors.
After playing the course, golfers were invited to take part in our Chipping Competition which was won by Ken Fraser. After some drinks on the clubhouse’s scenic second floor terrace, we retired to the stunning new two-storey clubhouse for a fantastic dinner & the all-important prize giving!
TJ’s own Commercial Manager, Alex Paul, was not only our Nearest the Pin Winner but led his team to gold as winners of the overall team competition.
The top prize of the night went to MJ O’Shaughnessy who won the coveted TJ’s Cup coming first in the individual Stableford competition.
Coming in last place, but winner of the Wooden Spoon, were Brian Fletcher, Jim Hamilton, Alan Grieve and Iain MacDougall. Unfortunately additional points weren’t awarded for flair or Brian’s unusual golf swing.
Unofficially, the best team photo had to go to Kevin Pick, Steve Pollock, Will Dunn & Craig McKie who missed the memo about co-ordinating outfits and instead chose to stand out – with full support from his teammates!
We would like to say a massive thank you to Dundonald Links for hosting the TJL Open this year and of course, thank you to our golfers and gophers for joining us on the day – we’ll see you again in 2024!
