Montpelier House in London is directly opposite Harrods, with no access other than the front face onto a very busy pavement. At the time of taking on this project, we had just successfully completed the approximately £12m phased refurbishment of the live Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh. The client was so impressed by our level of service that he asked us to carry out his works in London.

The food outlet and bank on the ground floor of the building continued to operate throughout the duration of the project, meaning the existing tenants had to be constantly considered at every stage of planning and working on site. Works included altering floorplates, some with structural extensions to the rear to gain valuable floor space, altering MEP services around these new floorplates and partition layouts, and high quality finishes to public areas. Floorplates were left as shells: ready for new tenant fit-out.
