As bespoke furniture makers, we supplied tailor-made joinery for the transformation of the historic Meldrum House into The Resident Hotel. Our artisan furniture and custom joinery helped create rooms and communal spaces that offer a stylish, comfortable home away from home.

In the guest bedrooms, we crafted headboards from walnut veneered MDF with hardwood tambour detailing, finished in Shinnoki Frozen Walnut stain. Some headboards featured cut-outs for sockets, adding practical convenience. Complementing these were laminated MDF wardrobes and lacquered walnut dressing tables.
We manufactured 165 flat-pack mini-kitchens in 17 different layouts, each featuring stone countertops, stainless steel sinks and taps, and painted glass splashbacks installed on-site. These kitchenettes provide guests with a practical, modern cooking space that fits seamlessly within the room design.

In communal and reception areas, bespoke joinery added warmth and character. The reception desk is clad in composite grey laminate with an Atlantic Lava stone top, supported by a metal frame and bronze-plinth cladding. Additional features include a wine wall with sliding glass panels, a library nook with brass decorative dividers, and custom window ledges. These elements contribute to a welcoming, elegant atmosphere throughout the hotel.
This project shows how expert bespoke furniture makers can transform historic buildings into modern, elegant hotels. The Resident Hotel’s interiors now blend traditional charm with contemporary comfort, achieved through custom joinery tailored to the property’s unique character.
