Health and Safety

The health, safety and welfare of not only our workforce but all of our stakeholders is fundamental to the success of our business.  At TJL health & safety is of paramount importance and we work hard to ensure that we maintain our excellent record in this area.

The safety culture throughout our business works well, demonstrated by our safety statistics which are industry leading.  We do not however treat 'safety' as a separate part of anybody's role on site - it is treated as an integral part of what our people do all day, every day.  Our experienced H&S Manager is very much involved in the activities on every site, making regular unannounced site visits and implementing changes where required.  Unsafe working is absolutely not tolerated in any area of our business.

Our commitment to health & safety is supported by our full programme of training and re-training which assists us in ensuring that every employee possesses, maintains and develops the relevant knowledge, skills and experience to undertake work for us.  The selection of training which our team participates in includes CSCS, SMSTS and first aid.  Health is just as important as safety, which is why we also run a full occupational health programme for all employees.

Our comprehensive health & safety management system is regularly reviewed to ensure continuous improvement, legal compliance and adherence to industry best practice.  TJL's health & safety management system meets the stringent standards of several SSIP schemes and industry groups:
