National Stress Awareness Day

The events of the past few years have brought more than enough stressors for all of us.

Mindfulness Company Headspace have reported that 7/10 workers stated they were extremely stressed and that it was affecting their performance at work.

Today marks Stress Awareness Day: not all stress is bad stress, but negative stress can impact how people feel in their personal and works lives, with 62% of people asked saying they felt that stress affected their performance at work.

The Mental Health Foundation have created an online guide on how to manage and reduce stress. You can read it in full here but we’ve included some ways to protect yourself from stress below:

  • Eat healthily 🍎
  • Be aware of your smoking & drinking 🍻
  • Exercise 🏃‍♂️
  • Take time out ☕
  • Be mindful 🧘‍♂️
  • Get some sleep 🛌
  • Don’t be too hard on yourself 🤍

It can also help to talk about the things that are causing you stress and not just on National Stress Awareness Day.

Thomas Johnstone also have 7 trained Mental Health First Aiders who are here to assist our colleagues with anything that may be impacting their mental health.
