TJL Divisional 2025 Review
This has been a great year for us, and we’d like to take a moment to share the TJL Divisional 2025 Review. Our clients this year spanned hospitality, education, leisure and residential sectors. Projects included everything from bespoke pieces to high-volume production of standardised furniture for large hotel developments. Let’s have a closer look at some of the highlights of 2025.
Manufactured Joinery for Hospitality clients
Alongside producing furniture for core TJL projects, the division also provided manufactured joinery for a wide portfolio of external clients. When it came to hospitality clients, we crafted bespoke pieces for Crieff Hydro Hotel, for the transformation of their dining areas, and Ardbeg, where no two pieces of furniture were the same. Another core project we crafted manufactured joinery for is Residence Inn by Marriott in Edinburgh. Each project was tailored to the client’s needs, collaborating with various designers to bring the vision to life.
In addition, we also provided furniture for Old Quay House in Cornwall. This was a supply-only project which allowed us to provide high-quality furniture for a boutique hotel further afield. Another hospitality project we carried out was The Resident in Edinburgh. For this project, we provided flat pack kitchens, vanities, headboards and wardrobes. Moreover, we crafted several bespoke pieces for the public areas, such as a wine wall, a library-reading nook, and a reception desk with an Atlantic Lava stone top.
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention our work for Glasgow’s stunning venue, The Collector’s Hall. Our joiners crafted the front bar and back gantry, feature doors, credenzas, wall panels and vanities for this event venue in the AC by Marriott Hotel where we’ve worked before. This project is part of the Love Loan regeneration, a major initiative revitalising the city centre.
Manufactured Joinery for education clients
This year, we also applied our expertise to several education sector projects around Edinburgh. One notable project was the Dunfermline City Campus, where we supplied fixed furniture. The new building has been shortlisted for Net Zero Development of the Year at the Scottish Property Awards. For this Fife College facility, we crafted a nurse station, health & wellbeing desk, reception desk, training bars, wall panels, and an LRC desk.
Another project involved supplying and fitting bespoke furniture for the Edinburgh Innovation Hub, the newest facility at Queen Margaret University. For this development, we crafted a reception desk, tea prep areas, booth seating, atrium seating, and ash fins.
We also crafted bespoke furniture and case goods for the Martha Street Apartments in Glasgow’s Love Loan development. Kitchens, wardrobes, desks, and communal seating were installed across 179 apartments. We also designed tailored joinery for shared spaces like the gym, cinema, and meeting rooms, ensuring a consistent, high-quality finish throughout.
Small Works Projects of 2025
This year has been filled with various projects for our Small Works division. Drawing on our expertise, we supported clients across hospitality, leisure and commercial sectors.
Earlier in the year, we transformed the guest toilets in the Balmoral hotel’s meetings and events space, delivering a high-end finish that feels right at home in this iconic Edinburgh setting. By pairing functional upgrades with clean, timeless detailing, our site team created a space that reflects both quality and care.
We also completed a couple of projects for Contini, an Italian restaurant in Edinburgh. After refurbishing their kitchen, we returned to build a new terrace just in time for summer, helping the restaurant expand its outdoor seating and enhance the dining experience for their customers.
When it comes to our leisure clients, we completed a project for Edinburgh Leisure at the Craiglockhart Leisure and Tennis Centre. What was once an underused space is now a fully functional, well-ventilated cycling studio, giving members a modern space to train and making better use of the facility.
TJL Decorating Projects of 2025
Our Decorating Division continued building their long-standing partnership with Santander, as well as working on core projects. Thanks to having an in-house team, we offer flexibility and seamless coordination across projects. To name a few, our decorators contributed to our works at Crieff Hydro Hotel, Old Course Hotel, and are currently working at Prestwick Golf Course.
Reflecting on this year, we’ve had the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of projects across hospitality, education, and residential sectors. Our work spanned crafting bespoke manufactured joinery for The Collector’s Hall, creating a new cycle studio at Craiglockhart Leisure and Tennis Centre, and completing Decorating Division projects that enhanced a variety of spaces. We remain committed to delivering innovative and sustainable joinery solutions, alongside flexible and high-quality decorating and small-scale works. Looking ahead, we will continue meeting our clients’ evolving needs with care and excellence.
