Bespoke Manufactured Joinery

At Thomas Johnstone Ltd, we create bespoke manufactured joinery as well as standard pieces. Our team creates joinery pieces at our 30,000 sq ft facility at the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District for Scotland. Our unique ability to produce both bespoke joinery and standard furniture sets us apart from our competition. The TJL workshop is also more than just a joinery shop. The process starts with setting out, then the timber goes through our machine shop. From there, our skilled joiners combine the different components. Ultimately, it goes to the paint shop for a finish requested by the client. We’re flexible and create furniture that meets our clients’ needs, with many choosing to work with us again.

Manufactured Joinery – 3 Shops in 1

Machine Shop Services

We invest in modern machinery to ensure that we can process large quantities of timber. While the majority of the work we do at the machine shop is part of larger joinery projects, we’re able to process machine-shop-only orders as well. Our timber machine services include:

  • CNC machining service
  • Skirtings, facings, base blocks, mouldings, cills
  • Edging Service
  • Cutting Service
  • Profile Matching
  • Kitchens
  • Flat Pack Goods

One of the machines we have is a profile grinder. This allows us to create a shape or contour that’s unique to our client’s request. You can see examples below.

Joiner Shop

Our talented tradesmen create bespoke furniture as well as standard pieces, such as PBSA furniture. We’ve created furniture for numerous hotels, offices, schools and more. We’re able to deliver large quantities within budget and limited time frames. We also offer beautifully crafted bespoke joinery for clients looking to bring a unique vision to life. In addition, we also deliver supply-only joinery packages. This allows us to serve clients all across the UK. Take a look at some of our most recent projects below.

Paint Shop – Furniture Painters

The final stage of our manufactured joinery projects is at our paint shop. Our experts use primer, furniture spray paint, lacquer, wax, oil, metallic paint or stain. Whether you’re looking for a more natural finish or an eccentric metallic, we’ll deliver. We also take on projects of furniture restoration.
