Located within the confines of the grounds of Gartnavel Hospital, we carried out works on the 4th level of the new West of Scotland Cancer Hospital to form a specialist care unit for cancer patients and their families.
The purpose of this project was to create a “chill-out” space for patients and families to relax and recuperate. This involved forming acoustically segregated zones for privacy whilst generating more general use facilities including; an envirosphere, family cinema, beauty treatment rooms, hairdressers, a computer room, communal lounge, music room, library and a dining area.
To maximise the usable space, we worked with the client to incorporate acoustic partitioning, bespoke sliding doors, shelving systems, feature panelling and curved walling. Floor finishes are bright and appropriate for purpose including ceramic and slate tiling with glass, rubber and resin feature inserts, coloured resin, hardwood and vinyl.
