Central to the principle of 21st Century Learning Spaces, is the creation of an environment that reflects the core beliefs of the University by facilitating learning by encouraging dialogue and debate. We were therefore delighted to be selected as the fit-out contractor for the Saltire Centre for Glasgow University.
The interiors of the centre, create different environments and conditions for learning ranging from quiet solitary study on the top floors, to lively “open-forum” debates, and informal social areas.
Colour, design and audio cues all help in setting the right environmental factors for learning and these were incorporated into our works including the supply and installation of a variety of bespoke manufactured joinery items, acoustic tunnels between the library and atrium; and the production and installation of timber linings.
