The clubhouse was extensively fire damaged in 2019 and our experienced team were tasked with ‘putting it back together’, along with building and seamlessly integrating a new extension.

This was a very technical project, particularly due to the strategic methodology needed for reinstating floors and putting the roof on because the façade was retained.  The complex extension linking old and new was carefully constructed and we managed the challenges of M&E integration, new utilities and a high-end fit-out throughout the clubhouse.

Beyond the expected challenges of working in a fire damaged building, we were also operating amidst a golf course which remained open throughout the project.  We had to collaborate with Glasgow Golf Club to co-ordinate major deliveries of items such as steel, concrete and skips daily, and we had to work closely with them to get their members onto the course safely using traffic management and banksmen.

Glasgow Golf Club were delighted with the team involved and the exceptional quality of building, specialist fit-out and manufactured joinery works delivered.

…the project was completed on time and the quality of work is exemplary…

The Thomas Johnstone project management team managed the project in a most impressive manner, liaising with and keeping the club, as client, well informed throughout. The standard of finishes achieved is superb and certainly befitting of the restoration of our Georgian Mansion House following the devastating fire in 2018.
