University of Glasgow

Phased fit-out of multiple levels within an occupied university building to form Bio Chemistry and Tissue Culture Laboratories.

Working in a live occupied university environment, we were successfully awarded the works to deliver the phased handover of a complex modernised Bio Chemistry and Tissue Culture labs within the Davidson Building at the University of Glasgow.

The project was spread over the first four levels of an existing research building, and included the integration of new clinical grade services to the existing system including full M&E Services upgrades, fume cabinets, safety cabinets, CCU’s, air conditioning, lab gases, anti vibration benches, auto claves, radiation labs and cupboards.

Close liaison with the project team, the estates department, and those academics and personnel who occupied the building was maintained throughout the project. This enabled the seamless phased handover whilst ensuring minimal impact to the ongoing research and teaching activities.
