TJL’s Impact in Edinburgh
TJL has been instrumental in Edinburgh’s hotel sector, delivering projects that combine high-quality design with operational efficiency. At the Virgin Hotel Edinburgh, TJL converted historic buildings and built new elements to create a modern, vibrant hotel. The works included full guestroom and suite fit-outs, bespoke joinery, and integrated interior elements that reflect the brand’s contemporary style. This project added a significant new hotel to the city’s hotel market.
Other central Edinburgh projects include Motel One on Princes Street, where guest rooms and public areas were modernised to meet the brand’s modern standards, and Residence Inn by Marriott, where interiors and communal spaces were refreshed to better serve business and leisure visitors.
TJL has also worked on Supercity Aparthotel, The Edinburgh Grand, and Advocate’s Close, supporting Edinburgh’s growing accommodation demand.
Glasgow: Top 5 in the UK Hotel Index
Glasgow remained in the top 5, indicating Scotland’s competitiveness in the UK hospitality market.
Corporate travel, leisure demand, and a strong event calendar continue to support Glasgow’s hotel performance. With the 2026 Commonwealth Games taking place in Glasgow, it is guaranteed to bring even more visitors to the city.
TJL Projects in Glasgow
TJL has also strengthened Glasgow’s hotel market through the voco Grand Central Hotel, a flagship city-centre project. The refurbishment transformed the hotel’s 243 rooms and public spaces into a modern, vibrant offering that aligns with evolving visitor expectations.
At the Radisson Blu Hotel Glasgow, TJL completed a full guestroom refurbishment and upgrades to public areas. The works modernised all rooms while maintaining operational standards in a busy city-centre hotel. This project helped boost the hotel’s appeal to business and leisure travellers.
TJL also contributed to the AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow, delivering bespoke joinery and furniture for guest rooms and public areas.
Currently, TJL is transforming a historic 19th-century townhouse into Arthouse Glasgow, a 76-room design-led hotel that blends modern luxury with heritage charm.
Together, these projects demonstrate how TJL supports Glasgow’s hospitality sector and helps the city maintain a high-quality accommodation offer.
As Edinburgh retains its top spot and Glasgow continues to rank among the top five, we look forward to showcasing upcoming hospitality projects in these key markets.
