TJL Director Joins SBF Board

The Scottish Building Federation held its Annual Conference and AGM last week in voco Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow.

As long-time members and supporters of the Federation, representatives from Thomas Johnstone Ltd (TJL) attended the conference to join other industry members to discuss key issues including managing mental health with construction, supporting business succession planning, leadership, and key financial planning. SBF members were also invited to attend the AGM while conference attendees had the opportunity to network with other professionals.

Former Director of Thomas Johnstone Ltd, Graham Kelly, stepped down from the board, after retiring from the business earlier this year. TJL’s long-standing membership and association with the Federation will continue via Manufacturing Director, Michael Hillman, who was one of a number of new Board members voted in during the AGM.

Speaking about his new appointment, Michael remarked, “I am proud to have been appointed as a new member of the SBF Board of Directors. I am looking forward to working alongside the other board members, staff, and members of the Federation working to build Scotland’s future.”
As part of the day’s proceedings, TJL were also pleased to have their recent win at the National Federation of Builders Construction Awards of Excellence 2023 highlighted to attendees. SBF President Greig MacLeod re-presented the prestigious Building Contractor of the Year: Scotland Award.
