Charlotte Square 20-21 Completed

We are excited to announce that our project for Corran Properties in Edinburgh, 20-21 Charlotte Square is completed! This prestigious development involved transforming a historic site into a modern office space while upholding the high standards set by our client. The exceptional quality of workmanship delivered by team TJL is evident in every detail.

Designed by Robert Adam in 1791, Charlotte Square is a key part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to this project, we’ve carried out refurbishment works at several other properties within The Charlotte Square Collection. These include 8 and 24-25 and we are currently refurbishing 19 Charlotte Square.

Our team seamlessly integrated contemporary features with the building’s heritage, adapting it to meet the needs of today’s workplace. Notably, the two townhouses at 20-21 Charlotte Square are now linked by walkways, designed to accommodate the same tenant across both buildings.

A key addition to the building is a spacious auditorium extension with a six-meter ceiling, alongside essential facilities like a riser for services and new toilet areas. The basement has also been upgraded with showers and locker rooms for cyclists, promoting environmentally friendly commuting options.

To enhance accessibility, we also installed a new lift, ensuring faster movement across the building and making it more accessible for people with mobility challenges.

TJL has created an upscale office environment featuring restored original fireplaces, new tea corners on every floor, and a stylish boardroom with a glass wall.

This project was a fantastic opportunity to work with an incredible team of collaborators: Morgan Architects, CSQ, KJ Tait, Gardiner & Theobald, Summers Inman, and WSP. We’re proud to have contributed to such an iconic and impactful development.
