The PEAK refurbishment completed
Thomas Johnstone Ltd is thrilled to share The PEAK project completion in Stirling. The project delivers a major investment in the city’s health and wellbeing facilities.
Alliance Leisure led the project through the UK Leisure Framework. The development transforms part of the existing sports hall into a modern and expanded fitness offering. The new facilities meet growing demand from members and the wider community. Since opening in 2009, The PEAK has grown into a key community hub. Membership has increased from around 3,500 to more than 8,000 users.
Working alongside CD Architects, Axiom Project Services, Struer, Wallace Whittle, ABT Safety and Hutchi, our team delivered a complex refurbishment in a live leisure environment. Throughout the programme, the centre remained operational with minimal disruption.
The development repurposed three of the existing nine courts in the sports hall to create two new ground-floor fitness studios. We also added a substantial first-floor gym extension on a new mezzanine level. Our team installed structural steelwork, metal decking and specialist support systems for modern gym equipment. We also formed new door openings to improve circulation throughout the facility.
The PEAK project completion provides Active Stirling and Stirling Council with enhanced facilities that support the long-term future of the centre. It creates modern and flexible spaces that encourage health, fitness and wellbeing across the community.
Thomas Johnstone Ltd is proud to have played a leading role in delivering this important development. We would also like to thank all project partners, consultants and subcontractors involved in bringing the project to completion.
