Guidis Airdrie Ready to Reopen

After just over a year of construction, Guidis Airdrie is ready to reopen.

TJL led the redevelopment, taking the project from the remains of the building destroyed in the 2021 fire through to full completion.

Working in close partnership with the Guidi family and wider project team: 10Design, Inkdesign Architecture, Doig & Smith, McColm Civil & Structural Engineers and Butler Consulting, the team rebuilt the venue as a refreshed version of a much-loved local destination.

The reopening marks an important moment for the community. Guidis has long held a strong place in the community, and its return restores a familiar and valued meeting point for residents and visitors alike.

The new building blends modern hospitality facilities with the warmth and character that defined the original venue. It retains a sense of familiarity while introducing a refreshed identity that elevates the overall guest experience.

Inside, bespoke finishes and high-quality materials shape the interiors. Carefully considered architectural details bring depth and character to each space, creating an environment designed for comfort and social connection.

A Complex Project – Completed

Throughout construction, TJL coordinated a complex sequence of works across the site. Multiple construction methods were carried out in parallel, requiring close planning and coordination. Regular collaboration with the client and design team helped maintain progress and quality from start to finish.

The project also required careful sequencing management on a constrained site. Demolition, rebuild works and specialist installations were integrated into a tightly managed programme, with each phase carefully planned to maintain momentum.

Beyond the building itself, the redevelopment strengthens the local hospitality offer and supports employment in the area. It also provides a vibrant space for people to meet, dine and celebrate together.

As guests return to experience the transformed Trattoria Guidi and The Capocci Man, the venue enters a new chapter shaped by collaboration, craft and attention to detail. TJL is proud to have delivered a project that restores a valued destination for the community.
