TJL Finalist at the Construction Awards of Excellence

We are delighted to announce that TJL has been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Construction Awards of Excellence: Best Building Contractor (£50m+ Turnover) and Private Sector Project of the Year for Ardbeg House.

These nominations recognise the dedication, expertise and commitment demonstrated by our teams across the business. Being named a finalist among some of the industry’s leading contractors is a significant achievement. It reflects the quality of work delivered by our people, supply chain partners and clients.

Ardbeg House – Private Sector Project of the Year

We are particularly proud to see Ardbeg House shortlisted for Private Sector Project of the Year. Located in Port Ellen on Islay, the project transformed the former Islay Hotel into a distinctive hospitality destination that celebrates the island’s culture, heritage and world-renowned whisky industry.

Delivered for Glenmorangie Company Ltd, Ardbeg House involved the creation of 12 individually designed guest bedrooms, alongside a restaurant, bar and immersive guest spaces. We worked closely with the client, Russel Sage Studio designers and local artisans. The project combined high-quality fit-out with bespoke joinery and handcrafted features that showcase the character of Islay throughout the building.

The project is a strong example of collaborative delivery, bringing together specialist trades, local craftspeople and TJL’s own Manufactured Joinery division to create a unique hospitality experience. The result is a destination that not only provides luxury accommodation but also tells the story of the island through its design and detailing.

Recognition for both Ardbeg House and TJL as a business is a testament to the passion and professionalism of everyone involved. We would like to thank our clients, consultants, supply chain partners and employees for their continued support and contribution.

We look forward to celebrating with our fellow finalists at the awards ceremony and wish everyone shortlisted the very best of luck.
