Reaching New Heights at the Virgin Hotel

Works within the new Virgin Hotel in Edinburgh are progressing on all areas. The internal refurbishment and fit-out of the India Building on Victoria Street as well as construction of the new-build extension on Cowgate are now in progress.

We are continuing with the construction of the new-build extension on Cowgate. We have completed the steel structure and concrete floors for 8 of the planned storeys. In addition, we are working to complete the rest before roof works begin and the building’s outer layers are erected.

The connections between all sections of the project are now beginning to be set out, showing the flow between buildings that will exist when the project is complete.

The completed hotel is expected to open in 2022 and will feature 225 Chambers and Grand Chamber Suites. Moreover, it will have multiple dining and drinking venues, including their staple Commons Club. The entire project team has worked hard to preserve historical elements of the existing India Building while bringing a modern sense of style and sophistication to the property.
