TJL Hosts Inaugural Burns Supper
Thomas Johnstone Ltd held its inaugural Burns Supper at The Caledonian Club, Belgravia, London on Tuesday 21st January 2014.
A number of guests from TJL’s London Division’s ever expanding client list attended our inaugural Burns supper to receive some traditional Scots hospitality. Our Burns Supper followed the usual format and included the ceremonial “Piping in of the Haggis” with TJL staff showcasing their talents in reciting The Selkirk Grace, the “Address to the Haggis”, the Immortal Memory and poetry. The ‘craic’ was good and the evening was rounded off in the normal fashion by singing Auld Lang Syne.
London Director John McKerrow said, “It was a return to our roots as Thomas Johnstone was formed in 1868, in Burns’ Country, in Maybole, in Ayrshire. An excellent evening was had by all, enjoying a few drams with existing and new London based Clients, with many staying on into the wee small hours.”
