We are delighted to report that our Dyke McKenzie, Sales & Business Development Manager, completed the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 28th May 2017 in a very impressive time of 3h 56m 29s - a top third result! He undertook the challenge in support of two fantastic cancer charities - Cancer Research UK and MacMillan Cancer Support - and has so far raised over £3,000 for these fantastic good causes!
Dyke would like to thank everyone who has donated and supported him throughout his journey. He is now feeling a little sore but the pain was worthwhile!
From all at TJL, well done Dyke - we are very proud of you!
To end Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2017 we tell the story of Ross Johnston, one of our Site Managers who started his career as an apprentice.
When Ross started with Thomas Johnstone Ltd back in 2001, he never imagined that one day he would be managing projects for us. Ross joined us as an apprentice joiner and completed an apprenticeship in carpentry over the next 4 years.
Billy Hynes is the Manufacturing Director at Thomas Johnstone Ltd. Whilst his position is impressive, what is probably more impressive is the fact that he started his journey as an apprentice! Billy’s career progression over the last few decades is awe-inspiring.
Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2017: “I’m looking forward to being fully qualified and using the skills I’ve learned”
Continuing with our focus on current and former apprentices for Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2017, today we bring you the story of one of our current apprentices who already looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
Ahmier Riezia is a 4th year apprentice with Thomas Johnstone Ltd. He is completing an apprenticeship to become a qualified bench hand joiner, and he says that his experience as an apprentice has been great.
